Love Letters From New York

It’s easy to worship from a distance
Wouldn’t be the same, if she were here
’Cause in the glaring light of every day
Without any safety clearance
Romantic illusions just disappear

I dream of us – together – united
I always wake up with a smile
But in the glaring light of every day
The contented smile will soon be dead
And all that’s left is sorrow and denial

So I write love letters from New York
Words full of fervour, longing, and care
Stupid little letters
To the one I like most
Love letters from New York
Letters – I never post
